TECHNICAL INFORMATIOM:

Agarose 1200 is a multipurpose molecular biology grade agarose suitable for use in the analysis of nucleic acids in a broad size range of between 150 bp and 6 kbp depending on the concentration of the agarose used to prepare the gel. Agarose 1200 can be used for PCR products, plasmid DNA or genomic DNA fragments.

The gel strength of this Agarose allows easy handling of > 0.8% gels in TBE or TAE buffer in the presence or absence of a denaturing agent such as urea. Its high melting temperature allows Agarose 1200 gels to be run at high voltages to achieve rapid separation without damaging the gel from elevated temperatures.

Each batch of Agarose is tested for the absence of nucleases. Using any of the standard approaches or commercially available extraction kits, good recovery of up to 4 kbp DNA can be achieved from gels that are below 1.2%. DNA fragments can be blotted from Agarose 1200 gels for subsequent hybridization or other manipulations.
